Our sole purpose at Hard Tail Charters is to share the beauty of the southern
Rhode Island and eastern Connecticut shoreline, while ensuring that
your time on board will be memorable, and most of all, fun!


The Hard Tail

Originally designed for the tough conditions and challenging waters of the Pacific Northwest, the
Hard Tail is a rugged, safe and fully functional
25-foot diesel-powered pilot house cruiser.

She features a spacious salon settee, refrigeration,
cabin heat, a stand-up head and cushioned cockpit
seating, providing a comfortable ride and ample
protection for 2-6 guests.

Though she’s no-frills compared to some, she's extremely seaworthy, capable and more than
ready to take you wherever you might want to
go. So just sit back, relax and take in the sights and sounds as we slip the dock lines and head
out for an enjoyable few hours on the water!

                               Your host and Captain, David Shepherd

Out-going, laid-back and tanned from the neck
up and elbows down, Captain David has spent more
than 40 years on the water in boats of all types. He holds
a U.S. Coast Guard-rated 50-ton Master’s license.

We’re sure you’ll find Captain David to be knowledgeable,
helpful and gracious company during your cruise.
